Read the picture

A share is a small piece of a business. Its price can change as buyers and sellers trade. A chart is a picture of those past prices.

Read from left to right: earlier prices come first. The line rises and falls. The two low points touch $98; the two high points reach $102. Those are observations about the past.

What do support and resistance mean?

Support: an area where price previously stopped falling. Resistance: an area where price previously stopped rising. Think of a floor and ceiling that can break.
